Beyond Measure Fashion Show

When I got the invitation to Beyond Measure Fashion Show I was actually in Mississippi styling a photoshoot, however I couldn’t miss this event Kelsey Ashley had to put together. Booked a one way flight as soon as possible.

I honestly didn’t know what I was going to wear I just knew I wanted to wear these super bomb Bantu knots for a natural hair style. I started poking around to see what wardrobe vision I had in mind and I ran across this white puffy long sleeve top. It was such a statement piece. I paired it with this leather high slit faux leather pinafore skirt. Originally I wasn’t going to wear any tights underneath but then I thought why not. Included my black shades and a classic black pump to give its final touches.

Dear God,

I was going to type a whoooole explanation about how grateful I am for this and that…... But you know what, I’m simply blessed to see more life!

Officially an “OG”

Wow! I’m proud of myself, but I can also go harder.

Around this time of the year I normally would either be dancing during football season in my early 20s or in my late 20s I would be at NYFW, but for year 30 I decided to choose myself. I’ve never put myself first and I’m realizing mentally how important is it.

Had chef Pepa, at Amaka Calma Tulum and decided to wear my one side skirt and strappy one sleeve black top. I think this outfit may officially be my top look. Paired it with my chunky black pumps along with my weaved basket.

Happy birthday to me!

Big Purrrr

Im so blessed God took his time with me. Beyond happy to be celebrating life in advance. As my birthday slowly approaches I couldn’t have had the best pre-birthday dinner with nothing but amazing creatives who also all live in Los Angeles. Not only that my amazing alumni school, Jackson State University, had the opportunity to have their first SWAC football game in Miami this weekend. Why not support from a distance by wearing tiger print!

My tiger print Bodycon dress hugs the body so good and was also comfortable. Paired it with my solid matte black medium size tote bag, my fur black pumps and my transparent earrings.

What a amazing pre - birthday celebration!!!

Put that sh*t on

Now Auntie Tam never actually goes out unless it’s for networking events. So I decided to switch things up a bit and enjoy a Saturday night at KAMP. I’m definitely not the club type but when you haven’t been out in a long time I think it’s safe to put that sh*t on. I’ve been holding on to these navy blue Balmain thigh boots for almost 3 years and have only worn them once. Decided to style them with some cute Alexander Wang shorts and crop top. Of course my finishing touches are my red lip stick and nails. Added a black mini Saint Laurent bag, because why not!

Now back to the networking events!

Musing at Hammer Museum

I know sometimes we get tried of the same ole clubbing, going to a bar, or hookah lounge every single weekend in your own city. So why not get creative and still pop out however in the most supportive way ever.

This weekend I had the opportunity to visit Hammer Museum where many black artists came to showcase their art after the pandemic has shifted. Visiting the Hammer’s fifth biennial “Made in L.A. 2020” also presented a nice selection of artist with diverse perspectives.

Now with it being so hot but also trying to find a way to be as presentable as possible I decided to wear my tie die silk top. It was definitely comfortable and breezy for the occasion. I paired it with my light purple shorts, green sandals and light blue bag to bring the colors in my shirt to life. Gold jewelry is also my favorite go-to so I definitely did not hesitate to grab my gold necklace(s), gold iridescent earrings and bracelets.

Mother Nature

Did you know that Fashion was inspired by Mother Nature?

Brands such as Rodarte and iris van herpen have developed their craftsmanship by vivid yet soothing colors of the marine beauty. When I sit and reflect, I learn to appreciate Fashion outside of what just looks good. Fashion is a form of art and each stunning designer collection was by crafted by some ethereal force of nature itself.

While hiking and learning about the Mayan Ruins, I wore the color green because green also symbolizes health and natural world associations. I figured why, not blend in.

Isn’t it amazing how mother nature can inspired us in so many ways?!

Knitwear

Date nights at Perch but this time with my amazing family! Not sure what to wear?! Consider this look I put together next time around.

So we’re all skeptical about bodycon dresses, simply because they give such a sexy look. I decided to go with knit wear material this time around. My knitwear dress was a light taupe halter. Knitwear fabrics are generally lightly fitted or have a soft drape to conform well to the body. This is not only the perfect outfit for family date night occasions but it’s also appropriate.

The colors are also safe. I went with a cream earth tone cut out sweater which paired perfectly with my cream mules. Amazing look for an amazing dinner night!

Melanin and Green

To be honest… I wasn’t going to blog about this look until I got so many compliments. This look caught my eye because olive green is apart of the neutral color scheme. I’m slowly falling in love with browns, taupes, tans, and greens. So I decided why not pair ranges of olive green with comfy sweats since it’s already a trendy look. The elastic stretch, turtle neck crop top was the perfect piece to provide both comfort and style. My accessories included my olive green snapback with my emerald green tote along with my white slides. The white slides finalized this look because it has a soft tone and aesthetic that pairs well with neutral colors.

Summering all Summer

I heard LA was reopening and you know what that means???

As Im sure you guys all have been paying attention to the latest news in the world, its seems as if many cities and states are uplifting the restrictions for indoor and outdoor dining. Although it’s still very important to insure that you are staying safe and getting vaccines, Im excited to pop out and pop up to a couple of daytime festivities and brunch gatherings.

Literally online shopping last year was pointless because we had nowhere to go and with summer 2021 coming around - its safe to say all the ladies will be summering all summer, LOL! This sunny all black look was a huge risk because I always play it safe. However this time I decided to pair my all black sheer corset bodysuit with my comfy yet sexy fishnet tights. Since its hot, I mean why not?! I decided not to add any additional colors. I accessorized with my black crossbody bag and the new trendy bucket hat thats on the market as of today. It also wouldn’t have made any sense to wear closed toe sandals so I definitely wore a open toe heel to top this look off.

I might be a little late to brunch for this one, but I made it! LOL!

1 out of 365

Happy New Years Ladies!

Its time to rise and grind. If 2020 didn’t bring out the hustle in you, it’s okay! You have 365 new days to accomplish those goals you wrote down in 2020. New home? New car? Better health? Better finances? New spirit? Whatever it is, you get a fresh start!

I started my day one off with a hearty brunch and talked about my new goals that I’m so excited to challenge. It’s pretty chilly in my hometown, Jackson, MS, so of course I wore a long sleeve turtleneck, but not just any long sleeve turtleneck. This bodycon dress had the perfect fall/autumn print colors. The structured shoulders were my favorite.

To be completely honest, I would’ve like to wear a open toe heel but it was way too chilly so I paired this look with my favorite gold heel pumps to match my gold and black clutch. Perfect simple combo to start off the 2021 new year!

Last Year. New Year. So Happy New Year. 🥂

I have no idea why I didn’t blog this New Year’s Eve dress last year but it doesn’t matter because Covid - 19 most definitely canceled my plans for December 31, 2020.

Talk about perfect timing! Beyond that, it is fun to get dressed up outside of your typical weekend ensemble for the night — and that’s regardless of whether you’re RSVPing to a party or heading to a bar or club with your besties. However if I were to actually celebrate the incoming 2021 year, I do believe this would’ve been the perfect festive dress or something better of course lol. The colors most definitely gives a champagne sparkle glam. My simple black clutch and open toe shoes made an easy statement piece.

Happy New Years Ladies and Gent! 2021 will be a better year!

Bayang

Its getting chilly and you better bundle up. Of course in the dopest way possible.

Puffer coats & jackets have been part of the runway essentials. These outfits create a more dramatic and sophisticated. I will debate and say Long-sized coats are more striking for taller women because it emphasizes their assets, which is their long legs. I, however, decided to take a risk. Im only 5’1 and I figured why not go for it. These attires are your greatest confidant during the winter season.

Typically fall colors you would go for that fall burgundy or olive green color. But to be bold I love this bright yellow puffer trench and I could not pass. Decided to pop a metallic zip up hoodie since my yellow puffer did not come with one and I knew for sure won’t be catching a cold through this comfy style.

My grey nylon sweat pants came in handy because they were also super baggy and was an ideal match. Now when you pay attention to detail, I literally have absolutely nothing pink on so I thought why not color block. These bright colors in the winter will surely not be amiss wherever you go, either on the runway or on the streets. You will turn heads because of how gorgeous you give off a vivid-colored coat and shoe. So, don’t be afraid to level up your puffer coat style by choosing vibrant hues and intricate designs.

Its Boot Szn Sis

Fall is already here and are you boot season prepared? If not, you better get ready. Especially if you are in states like New York, Vermont and Minnesota.

If there’s one thing appropriate for pretty much any season (but especially fall and winter), it’s boots and booties. For those of us who believe you can never own too many of the chic shoe, I am officially your friend. You’re going to want to make some major room in your closet—or on shoe rack, or under your bed—because the boot trends this year came to walk all over previous seasons.

These spicy patent leather boots are way to fun. From the heel structure to the color. I enjoyed playing around with these because you could honestly wear them with skinny or flare jeans, a mini skirt with tights or with windbreaker pants. I have fallen in love with the fact that athleisure wear is now fashion. My black and white windbreaker pants with a touch of white went perfect with my patent leather red jacket. When paying attention to details you can also see the white zipper on the jacket was something I wanted to essentiate.

The finalization of this look was not only perfectly placed but I was super cozy and comfy.

Kitana - Mortal Kombat

Happy Halloween!!!

How creative were you this year? To be honest I’ve been planning this halloween look for about a year now lol. Only because I didn’t get the chance to wear a costume last year or year before last. This one was most definitely premeditated.

For me Halloween is more so about showing your creativity and expressing yourself in a distinctive style of an individual or group that reflects either a class, gender or profession. Its a time to have fun and show your production of your very own artistic work. This year I was a fictional character from the Mortal Kombat, Kitana. Her ultimate goal was to fight anything and anyone that was against her. Which match my personality on so many levels. Everyday each and each every one of us are fighting new challenges and we always find different ways to overcome those obstacles.

Not only did her ambitious simplify me, but so did her wardrobe. I love the entire rich royal blue two piece set, as it came along with the hand, arm, head and leg pieces. I decided to add the Chinese fixed fan for completion. My favorite was the mask, especially with Covid - 19 not making an exit anytime soon.

A Trend or nah

Some people may think stacked jeans are a trend. However, this specific style has been around for years. Often called elongated jeans, curved jeans, extended jeans, or what we call "J shape jeans". Dont get me wrong, as of 2020 they’ve definitely been apart of the spotlight. I think the question is how to wear them and when to wear them. Due so many innovative styles you have the right to dress them up or down. The simplest way is to merely wear them over your shoe. This is playing it safe, as they can be dressed up or down. I honestly was indecisive on if I should wear an open toe square heel or pointy toe. As you can see the open toe set the bar. With temperature dropping in LA I decided to wear a comfy graphic sweatshirt. Since it already resembled many colors, I thought why not add a pattern. My mini leopard print bag was the perfect go to and you guys know I love gold jewelry with everything. My finishing touches were big gold hoops and layered necklaces, oh and let me not forget my gold bracelets. This was the perfect random girls dinner night at Spire 73.

Painted On

Body hugging dresses are normally worn on days you would like to embrace your figure. Bodycon (body conscious) dresses are all about highlighting your curves. It’s a dress clinging to your figure and revealing your shape. All you need is a body positive attitude to go along with that confidence. Once you have made your mind about wearing it, stick to that. Believe that you can pull off anything you desire. Don’t get me wrong, I totally use to think these dresses were made for nightlife and party occasions only but I figure why limit yourself. As long as its suitable and appropriate for the setting of your event, go for it! This renaissance painted on dress is so trendy now. I love the neutral colors up against my skin complexion. Since the dress itself was already a statement piece I decided to accessorize with my transparent clear earrings to match my super comfy open toe sandal heels. Finished it off with a nice sleek back ponytail and my black crossbody bag and my date night was complete. Go for it ladies!!!!

Grown AF

…. A Moment of wishing a Happy belated Birthday to TamalaClarice!!!!!

A couple nice cocktails and martinis, I’m sure you’d appreciate still feeling comfortable yet sexy after having a drunk’n night! Tonight I celebrated my 29th birthday at STK Steakhouse LA. A modern concept with a chic lounge. The attire for the restaurant also went perfect with my birthday theme. I wore the most sexiest yet grateful and comfortable dress you could think of. This two tone silver and black backless dress was the most simplest masterpiece. It was also gave a seductive feel due to the high split right above the thighs. I completed my look off with a black diamond square toe heel. Nevertheless…. Cheers to 29!

Despite Covid

No worries guys, My mask is in my back pocket and to be completely transparent I haven’t been feeling my blogs because of the coronavirus that slowly approached the entire world late 2019. All of my blogs told a true story and gave a lifestyle to where I wore each and every outfit too. Rather it was to a brunch, dinner date night or even a girls trip. Every outfit was an expression during that moment in time. Now that Im no longer letting Covid take control, Im back and better and of course in the most safest way possible.

With today being my 29th birthday I decided release a blog in honor of all the events that have taken place in the world. Lets just say if police brutality wasn’t active or if covid wasn’t taking lives…where would we be mentally right? what event would I be attending for my birthday? or even what would I wear On my birthday? Well I’m not sure about the other questions lol but this look set the tone and bar for me at this amazing location called Silver Lake Pool & Inn on Santa Monica Blvd. The floral top can  often be associated with sweet and romantic, and there’s obviously nothing wrong with that. But the floral trend can also be combined with cool items for a more fashionable option. Which is why I decided to take a risk and layer my long sleeve floral puffer top with a pair of vinyl sleek high waisted pants. This bold statement piece amplified my entire look. I tried accessorizing with high-heeled sandals and burgundy teardrop earrings for a more high-fashion appeal. I hope you enjoyed this welcome back… because there’s sure more to come.

We feel it may be a little bit reductive to use the word intimate when describing bloggers but it serves a purpose and is ideal if you’re looking to create a classic retro silhouette. Let me start off by saying love yourself and your body. No matter the shape or size. From shaping and sculpting to lace appliqués, there’s hardly an itch not scratched in the expansive world of lingerie. That being said, I decided to pair my lingerie corset and lingerie biker shorts with an all over black blazer. This look was perfect for a girls dinner night right after the pandemic or even a wine tasting with your significant other for a in the house look. Layering it with gold jewelry and a gold leopard print band bag made it more chic and dressy casual. When finalizing your look be sure to make room for your shoe-drobe for faux fur heels. If you’re wondering how to wear fur heels for going out or staying in, then this is your best bet. It’s super sassy and gives you that open toe shoe glam. Just add a red lip and you can establish a bold and feminine statement in no time at all.
