Love, Tam 💞

As you can see, Im definitely a homebody. But when its time to step outside I make sure I create memories. My brother invited me to this Black excellence day event called “Everyday People LA”. The weather was gloomy and temperature was expected to drop so I made sure I wore something chic yet cozy and comfy.

I’ve always wanted to wear the signature off the shoulder look but It had to be denim and denim only. Finally found this super cute stretchy distressed denim jacket and wide pant. I took the non-cropped denim jacket and only button the bottom, to give the “off the shoulder” elusion look. I paired this look with all hot pink accessories — Pink shoes, pink bag, pink sun-visor and even pink earrings. I’ll definitely be wearing this look again.

A Minimalist

You should know by now, I’m honestly a minimalist at heart. Grey, Black, white and creams have been my monochromatic lifesaver. They are the predominant colors. You'd think you'll get bored but I personally never get tired of these colors. It's all about knowing how to mix different textures.

The main texture in this look was my R13 sweater. I love how I was able to elevate this super distressed knitwear top. Paired it with my Relaxed straight leg faux-leather pants. You can never go wrong with a flare silhouette and easy stretch for comfort. I even decided to keep things simple by adding my gold jewelry, tan crossbody bag and black platform pumps.

My final touches were my cat eye nylon frames. It definitely made this look a classic for any Saturday brunch!

Planet B

After styling 4 clients for the 2022 Black Brilliance Brunch, I’m honestly not even sure how I found the time or energy to style myself…. But I did!

Special thank you to Basic Public Relations for allowing me to wear this Beautiful gown provided by House of MUA MUA. The light yellow fading into the baby blue was so unique and transparent to me. The eccentric gradient sequin dress also gives the statement “WE DO NOT HAVE PLANET B”. I also had the pleasure of wearing a bold exceptional yellow hood and coat Provided by Rafinad.

Finalize my look with a mini black, Brandon Blackwood bag and a black pump. I’m happy I was able to pull this look off.

Big Bear 🐻 🏂

The month of February was extremely overwhelming, intense and busy. Need less to say this much needed mini get away was needed. Although I am very much so blessed to have been booked and busy, I forgot all about my mental and physical health.

Decided to take self care trip away to Big Bear Lake to go snowboarding, tubing, and relax around a nice bonfire with food, and drinks!!

For the snowboard adventure I decided to wear this blue metallic fur snowsuit. It paired perfect with my reflective snow goggles and snow boots.

Such a bomb experience!

TMC For Farfetch

Major Blog Moment for TamalaClarice!

I am very honored to be featured in Farfetch’s Black History article for Black Creatives. As many of you know Farfetch is a British-Portuguese online luxury fashion platform. Farfetch headquarters are in London and own by CEO, Jose Neves. FARFETCH exists for the love of fashion. We believe in empowering individuality.

For this look I decided to make a statement and wear the color green. Green symbolizes growth, renewal and new beginnings. This peaceful color also came in faux leather which made it even more durable. I was able to match my leather straight leg pants with a halter green body suit. This look came out to be so clean cut, sexy yet professional tagging along my all black blazer. When finalizing my accessories I paired my stylish cat eyewear frames.

Your Favorite Auntie

Los Angeles is not Sunny LA at the moment. It’s freezing cold here! Not only that, the weather changed on the same day I was scheduled to attend the Drake and Kanye tour which means my outfit choice had to also change.

Im always trying to figure out how to be alluring, chic, and dope at the same time. I’ve been holding on to this tan jumpsuit and Moncler sneakers for almost a year now. What a perfect time to wear it! Everyone knows Telfar bags are the hardest to collect so finally mines arrived and I was able to pair it with my dope fedora hat. This hat came in handy because the temperature kept dropping all night. My final touches were my chocolate crop puffer coat and cozy ankle socks.

I couldn’t have been more comfortable! Definitely wearing this look again!

Pressed on Preston

Wearing heels will always be a eye catcher but Dressing comfy is always a winner. You’re able to breathe, bend over, reach up and move around while being so dope.

I hopped on this all-neutral-chic outfit immediately because it features sweat pants as the chicest part of the entire outfit. An outfit as dressed down as this can be made that much more chic when you get monochromatic with the colors, right? In today’s case, I’m weaving light beiges and neutrals together (transitional colors from summer to fall) and making a normally cozy outfit

The orange accents really brought the final touches to my oversize t-shirt and my sneakers. Since my sneakers had multiple shades of funs colors in them I paired my black crossbody bag along with it.

She use to dance

Fact fun: My first blog was February 22, 2017 in Jackson, MS. Humble beginnings!

Living in Los Angeles gave me a reason to elevate my blogs but tonight In Jackson, I decided to put on for my city.

To be completely transparent, I will admit I never really felt it was necessary to go all out with a fancy outfit because it was know where to go besides a repetitive lounge, bar or club so I would downplay my looks. But as I got older, I learned to appreciate the smalls things. Who am I to judge?! Why not pave a way for fashion? Why not motivate others to in Jackson to feel comfortable and confident to wear whatever is it they choose to?

Tonight I decided to pop out wearing this elastic Marine Serre two piece set. This popular designer was perfect for an after five occasion. Due to the amazing neutral prints, I paired this look with my Bottega bag and sandals. Accessorized with a couple of Cuban links and we outside. Like I said …. put on for my city!

Tulum Dump - Part 1

Don’t we all want to be comfy and cute while on vacation. Lately the neutral colors have been catching my eye for quite some time now and its always a safe route in my opinion. Brown, taupe, tan and cream are the ultimate to-go combos at this moment in time.

Went for a nice bike ride and ended up at the beach afterwards. Wore my brown joggers, biker shorts and crop top and underneath I added my white swimsuit for an easy take off. Simple and easy. The neutral Yeezy slides matched perfect with this entire outfit.

I’ll definitely be wearing this again.

Beyond Measure Fashion Show

When I got the invitation to Beyond Measure Fashion Show I was actually in Mississippi styling a photoshoot, however I couldn’t miss this event Kelsey Ashley had to put together. Booked a one way flight as soon as possible.

I honestly didn’t know what I was going to wear I just knew I wanted to wear these super bomb Bantu knots for a natural hair style. I started poking around to see what wardrobe vision I had in mind and I ran across this white puffy long sleeve top. It was such a statement piece. I paired it with this leather high slit faux leather pinafore skirt. Originally I wasn’t going to wear any tights underneath but then I thought why not. Included my black shades and a classic black pump to give its final touches.

Officially an “OG”

Wow! I’m proud of myself, but I can also go harder.

Around this time of the year I normally would either be dancing during football season in my early 20s or in my late 20s I would be at NYFW, but for year 30 I decided to choose myself. I’ve never put myself first and I’m realizing mentally how important is it.

Had chef Pepa, at Amaka Calma Tulum and decided to wear my one side skirt and strappy one sleeve black top. I think this outfit may officially be my top look. Paired it with my chunky black pumps along with my weaved basket.

Happy birthday to me!

Big Purrrr

Im so blessed God took his time with me. Beyond happy to be celebrating life in advance. As my birthday slowly approaches I couldn’t have had the best pre-birthday dinner with nothing but amazing creatives who also all live in Los Angeles. Not only that my amazing alumni school, Jackson State University, had the opportunity to have their first SWAC football game in Miami this weekend. Why not support from a distance by wearing tiger print!

My tiger print Bodycon dress hugs the body so good and was also comfortable. Paired it with my solid matte black medium size tote bag, my fur black pumps and my transparent earrings.

What a amazing pre - birthday celebration!!!

Put that sh*t on

Now Auntie Tam never actually goes out unless it’s for networking events. So I decided to switch things up a bit and enjoy a Saturday night at KAMP. I’m definitely not the club type but when you haven’t been out in a long time I think it’s safe to put that sh*t on. I’ve been holding on to these navy blue Balmain thigh boots for almost 3 years and have only worn them once. Decided to style them with some cute Alexander Wang shorts and crop top. Of course my finishing touches are my red lip stick and nails. Added a black mini Saint Laurent bag, because why not!

Now back to the networking events!

Musing at Hammer Museum

I know sometimes we get tried of the same ole clubbing, going to a bar, or hookah lounge every single weekend in your own city. So why not get creative and still pop out however in the most supportive way ever.

This weekend I had the opportunity to visit Hammer Museum where many black artists came to showcase their art after the pandemic has shifted. Visiting the Hammer’s fifth biennial “Made in L.A. 2020” also presented a nice selection of artist with diverse perspectives.

Now with it being so hot but also trying to find a way to be as presentable as possible I decided to wear my tie die silk top. It was definitely comfortable and breezy for the occasion. I paired it with my light purple shorts, green sandals and light blue bag to bring the colors in my shirt to life. Gold jewelry is also my favorite go-to so I definitely did not hesitate to grab my gold necklace(s), gold iridescent earrings and bracelets.

Mother Nature

Did you know that Fashion was inspired by Mother Nature?

Brands such as Rodarte and iris van herpen have developed their craftsmanship by vivid yet soothing colors of the marine beauty. When I sit and reflect, I learn to appreciate Fashion outside of what just looks good. Fashion is a form of art and each stunning designer collection was by crafted by some ethereal force of nature itself.

While hiking and learning about the Mayan Ruins, I wore the color green because green also symbolizes health and natural world associations. I figured why, not blend in.

Isn’t it amazing how mother nature can inspired us in so many ways?!

Knitwear

Date nights at Perch but this time with my amazing family! Not sure what to wear?! Consider this look I put together next time around.

So we’re all skeptical about bodycon dresses, simply because they give such a sexy look. I decided to go with knit wear material this time around. My knitwear dress was a light taupe halter. Knitwear fabrics are generally lightly fitted or have a soft drape to conform well to the body. This is not only the perfect outfit for family date night occasions but it’s also appropriate.

The colors are also safe. I went with a cream earth tone cut out sweater which paired perfectly with my cream mules. Amazing look for an amazing dinner night!

Melanin and Green

To be honest… I wasn’t going to blog about this look until I got so many compliments. This look caught my eye because olive green is apart of the neutral color scheme. I’m slowly falling in love with browns, taupes, tans, and greens. So I decided why not pair ranges of olive green with comfy sweats since it’s already a trendy look. The elastic stretch, turtle neck crop top was the perfect piece to provide both comfort and style. My accessories included my olive green snapback with my emerald green tote along with my white slides. The white slides finalized this look because it has a soft tone and aesthetic that pairs well with neutral colors.

Last Year. New Year. So Happy New Year. 🥂

I have no idea why I didn’t blog this New Year’s Eve dress last year but it doesn’t matter because Covid - 19 most definitely canceled my plans for December 31, 2020.

Talk about perfect timing! Beyond that, it is fun to get dressed up outside of your typical weekend ensemble for the night — and that’s regardless of whether you’re RSVPing to a party or heading to a bar or club with your besties. However if I were to actually celebrate the incoming 2021 year, I do believe this would’ve been the perfect festive dress or something better of course lol. The colors most definitely gives a champagne sparkle glam. My simple black clutch and open toe shoes made an easy statement piece.

Happy New Years Ladies and Gent! 2021 will be a better year!

Bayang

Its getting chilly and you better bundle up. Of course in the dopest way possible.

Puffer coats & jackets have been part of the runway essentials. These outfits create a more dramatic and sophisticated. I will debate and say Long-sized coats are more striking for taller women because it emphasizes their assets, which is their long legs. I, however, decided to take a risk. Im only 5’1 and I figured why not go for it. These attires are your greatest confidant during the winter season.

Typically fall colors you would go for that fall burgundy or olive green color. But to be bold I love this bright yellow puffer trench and I could not pass. Decided to pop a metallic zip up hoodie since my yellow puffer did not come with one and I knew for sure won’t be catching a cold through this comfy style.

My grey nylon sweat pants came in handy because they were also super baggy and was an ideal match. Now when you pay attention to detail, I literally have absolutely nothing pink on so I thought why not color block. These bright colors in the winter will surely not be amiss wherever you go, either on the runway or on the streets. You will turn heads because of how gorgeous you give off a vivid-colored coat and shoe. So, don’t be afraid to level up your puffer coat style by choosing vibrant hues and intricate designs.
