Lavender Tequila

fullsizeoutput_67d.jpeg

If you continue to pay attention, my inspiration during the entire Mexico trip was based off lingerie. Whether it was lace, silk, satin or body chain, it was all targeting some form of comfort. Honestly, silk pants are about to take over my wardrobe. The effortless day-to-night style is one of the biggest trends of the season, and I truly can’t get enough. The best part is that there’s a way to style them for every fashion lover no matter what your personal style may be, whether you’re classically chic, totally sporty, or edgy—with a twist. The material is a little bit of a godsend for that go-to summer staple, though it’s important to note that you should choose your colors and patterns wisely depending on the temperature as some colorful tones don’t exactly lend themselves well to a sweaty night out. My lavender purple satin pants were slightly thin so it was perfect for a breezy night. I tried matching my silk pleaded pants with a cropped top to reveal my torso. But not just any crop top. This one was light purple and consists of a large bow with a metallic reflection. Go for a monochrome look and pair it with your favorite transparent earrings and your outfit is good to go.

Glitzing

Is it just me or does boyfriend jeans sometimes make you feel a size bigger than what you already are?! But it’s okay because they’re so hard to resist and super cute. No matter what you pair them with, the effect seems largely the same: oversized, undone, and stylish. Boyfriend jeans come in different styles and colors. You can purchase them with major distressing or even grab a high waisted pair. Figuring out how to wear boyfriend jeans might not be the most difficult style challenge, but the thing is that they can often seem one-dimensional. Anyone can wear them with a staple button-down, a nautical-inspired T-shirt, or a black leather bomber—it takes innovation to pull off theses styling tricks. I decided to wear mines on a hot summer day in Mexico during a girls trip. I Paired it with a skinny waist belt to make it more defined and my oh-so cute gold body chain top gave it a glitzing yet appropriate sex appeal once my skin hit the sun. I could’ve easily stopped adding layers there but I figured minimalism would be playing it safe. With it being so hot I added finishing touches with my white and tan straw hat and gold oversized sunglasses. The last accession to the look was a pair of my all white vans giving it an edgy vibe. I was then comfortably yet fashionably ready to take on Mexico.

Bronze Silhouette

I honestly believe that every woman can be a bit self-conscious when it comes to wearing a bathing suit. Even me! It’s either because we’re bloated, not confident or there’s just not enough boob support when wearing a bikini. Well, I’m here to tell you that this is why I love my job because I am able to help others be comfortable in their own skin no matter what. Sometimes we critique ourselves harder than anyone else rather than embracing ourselves for who we are. When picking out my perfect swimsuit(s) I always start with color. Personally green, orange and red compliments my skin tone. So try to find a color that you feel plays well off your skin tone. While contemplating on this particular blog in Mexico I knew green would pop with the palm leaves and brown tall tree branches. My emerald green two piece swimsuit matched perfect with my tan wide brim straw hat. So find a swimsuit that makes you and only you happy. Life is too short to worry about what other people think and love your curves to the fullest!

Secret of Purity

Summer on a budget? Trust me I can relate. Theres nothing worse than a girl having to limit her swimwear purchases for the summer season. After all, you want this bikini for the cruise, that bikini for the resort, this one-piece for the family vacation, that bikini for the beach, this bikini for laying by the pool… I mean, the list goes on. The good news is that you don’t have limit yourself to only one beach look this summer just because you have only one swimsuit, You just need to learn the secrets to adding a splash of versatility into your swimwear collection. As some of you may or may not know, that white is my favorite color. I always believed that white symbolize light, safety, purity, and cleanliness.  So, wearing white swimsuits was perfect. Having a neutral-colored swimsuit is like having that one pair of skinny jeans you know you can always rely on. They can be paired with all colors, designs, fabrics, tops, and beach accessories, allowing you to get several different beach styles out of one purchase.

I was able to bring so much class yet sex-appeal to Belize, with my favorite two white swimsuits. Couple of stops that were made along the way was the Belize Cruise and “The Belize Secret Beach” where they had the best shrimp tacos and fresh coconuts. While vibing to Nipsey Hussle and taking in this amazing sunset ocean view, it really helped inspired me to write this blog. I was so relaxed and comfortable in this crinkle chiffon fabric material. Its super stretchy and light weight. I was able to accessorize with pieces as simple as a stunning pair of big sunglasses or drooping body jewelry, it can change up the entire look of your beachwear. I even added a(n) super chic fanny pack, ankle bracelet, floral headband, and fedora hat. These little beach basic styling tips will help you get the most out of the trending summer styles without breaking the bank.

Ambergris Caye

The maxi skirt is a fabulously versatile piece that can be dressed up or styled casually for a carefree adventure! Day three in Belize, I visited city Ambergris Caye where they serve the best Caribbean dish. Ambergris Caye is the largest island in Belize, and the main destination for travellers to this western Caribbean nation. The weather is mild, the beaches are beautiful, and the history is rich, this is a land of swaying palm trees and colorful sunsets. With so much to do, I made sure I wore the most comfortable, easy breezy and light weight pieces. With a fluid and flattering silhouette the maxi skirt is the perfect piece to bring along for a weekend adventure! This particular maxi skirt was a silk champagne color detailed with ruffle lining. I just love how it moves when I walk. I had so much fun layering this look. I added a silk, mint green and white polka dot shirt to balance out the silk champagne skirt. The tie in the front gave it that summer feel. I wanted the whole look to look effortless and classic, which I think I achieved along with adding so many bright colors. Once you have your skirt and top picked out, partner it with cute and comfortable items, such as a bold sunglasses and flat sandals, and add accessories like bright earrings and headbands.

Belizean Tings

Taking a trip to town in San Pedro, Belize where you can find the best fruit stands are from the mainland and abroad. Belizeans want their fruit to not be only delicious, but they care about where their food comes from, too. Fun Fact: It  takes about 9 months to grow a fresh pineapple in Belize before they actually bring it to the fruit stands at their locally renowned San Pedro Framers Market. While roaming through the town, I made sure I wore the most Co-Ord Matching two piece sets which also works perfectly as swimsuit cover-ups. They’re super easy going, relaxing and comfortable. Matching skirt sets, short sets, and/or beach pant sets can be worn together, mixed and matched, and paired with different tops and bottoms in your existing wardrobe. This Zimmerman amari off shoulder tiered top and skirt worked perfect. The bright color scheme was such a fun combination.  This two-piece set also packs well, as it is lightweight and doesn't take up a lot of space in your luggage. I was able to add minimum accessories such as gold hoop earrings and my favorite convenient straw back pack. I used the word “minimum” specifically because I didn’t want to take away the drama from the outfit itself.  After vising the fruit stands, I was able to try this amazing Belizean Cuisine restaurant called Los Feliz while wearing this same statement piece. The two piece look worked out perfectly with the setting and atmosphere of the restaurant.

Las Terrazas Belize

I’m always trying to figure out ways to challenge myself personally and professionally. “How can I aim higher?” “How can I stay inspired?” “How can I stay consistent?”  As I step out of my comfort zone I figured that, “if something doesn’t challenge you, it’s not changing you”. I’ve been patiently working on my first international blog for over 2 months now. Im so excited to not only share fashionable looks but beautiful content of locations, adventures, food and the cultural differences while taking on the Western Caribbean Sea of Belize.

As we enjoy our stay at the Las Terrazas Resort and explore, of course it has to be in style.  Im so inspired by the bamboo architecture and nature atmosphere. For brunch, I decided to wear my floral tie-front crop top. The long bell sleeves are a statement piece alone which makes this look fun and flirty. No matter what style, crop tops are loved by everyone, because they are great for wearing with almost anything. Be sure to get the look you are most comfortable with. You can even get a neutral tone matching skirt with your crop top and even play with patterns such as stripes. My earth tone green and cream skirt paired perfectly. It can be the right look for your vacation day. Pair it with a nice sexy pump, cat sunglasses and straw back pack.

Be sure to already have your late date night outfit prepared, laid out and ready to go. Later that evening, dinner by the pool side gave me the perfect idea to wear a long maxi dress. This absolutely stunning look with red ruffle lining is just a look worth trying. You can even wear it for a lunch date or a casual party and enjoy the evening with such an elegant style. I was able to accessorize with my circular crocheted exterior bag with fringe around the edge. Finished off with my strappy nude heels and metal arm bracelet.

Strawberry Mango

Lately I’ve been encouraging you ladies to be comfortable and yet still fashionable but now it’s time to turn it up a knotch, of course in the most classiest way ever. This is normally where your versatility kicks in. When you think plaid, stop thinking lumberjack or schoolgirl – this season’s plaid pieces add an urban twist to the familiar print. Whether you are ready to embrace plaid fully this season or prefer to start with a few accents you can do it without straying from your personal style. This plaid bodycon dress was super sexy yet sophisticated but to tone down the curvy ensemble I dressed it up with my tan double-breasted trench coat and dark brown waist belt. It definitely gave it that ultimate on-the-go city look. The baseball cap has long been one of menswear's most polarising accessories.  As time progresses, a growing number of men and women are beginning to realize that, It isn't who should wear them, but  how we wear them. My plaid baseball cap is a tad bit of a different print from my dress, but it worked out perfect by sticking to a common neutral color scheme. Those last finishing touches are always your shoes and I would highly recommend 3 inches or lower if you want to be cute and comfy while taking on the city but if you are a go-getter like myself and have a high tolerance for high heels, I’d say go for it. You’d be amazed by how much of a higher arch can elevate your look.

Fashion is never comfortable!

Casual CASUAL

If you sincerely know Tamala Clarice than you know, I, myself am truly a casual girl. If you’ve ever had the opportunity to assist under a fashion stylist or if you are a fashion stylist yourself this is normally what type of attire you’d wear or of course in leisurewear. Even when a stylist is doing pulls or returns you must be as comfortable as possible because there is a lot of physical work that takes place, like carrying heavy garment bags and being on set of multiple hours. Blazers are one of those staple pieces of clothing that are a lot more versatile than people give it credit for. Easily matched with formal outfits and an endless array of Oxford shirts, it's something that's ideal for smarter occasions, but it also works great with a lot of casual pieces as well. Blazer and jeans or sweatpants work great together and are a go-to combination when creating a casual, yet put together look. Actually with this look, I have on two blazers. One plaid and one black. I paired it with a turtle neck which is also now the ultimate trendy piece. Makes sense that something as equally versatile as a slim turtleneck will work just as well with a blazer. Of course, there are some things you should probably keep in mind before you start throwing any random shirt on with any old blazer, but these are mainly things that you need to remember for any outfit - fit, color, pattern and length. That’s why I paired these super cute plaid Harlem shorts. I am not suggesting you throw on any kind of lounge wear, but some slim fitting black joggers in a thick cotton material, alongside your blazer, can be a surprisingly good combination. Pair it with your favorite kicks and your good to go for a long stylist busy day. Be picky when selecting your shoe choice, anything that's too chunky will disrupt the narrow look of the outfit. Keep them well fitted, but experiment with styles.

Shang Hi

There was so much inspiration and brainstorming put into this look, not only that it wasn’t a better way to bring in the new year of 2019 without a banger! I’ve always been inspired by Chinese style and fashion. I like the idea of creating balance from juxtaposition, like mixing unexpected shapes and fabrics. Chinese fabric such as traditional Chinese floral print pattern or floral brocade jacquard fabric can be a work of art with a simple touch of correct styling. I was so inspired by sheer Chinese fabric and the ever popular net dress that made its way to the fashion scene in the 70s and is now making a comeback in the high fashion world, it’s getting more and more daring. But of course, there are tons of ways to make it wearable. One or two, wear a slip dress underneath or even short-spanks in which you can choose to go for a mini or a maxi. With see-through details and long sleeve black and white trims this creation features details that created a much defined dimension, resulting to a very sexy yet elegant look.  This look can be worn at any upscale after 5 occasion or cocktail parties for social networking. Covering everything from the Chinese hair bangs to beauty tips. Compliment and complete your look with a bold red lip and nothing less than a 6 inch pump and you’re the highlight of the night!

Gym or Brunch

Who said you can’t wear sweats outside the house? They are so trendy and versatile you can literally trade any outfit for a sweat outfit and pull it off any and everywhere. It’s all crystal clear to me: they have become such a casual staple, courtesy of those athleisure trends, and of the 80s comeback that it’s the go-to-outfit for 1) running errands, 2) going shopping, 3) brunch, or 4) any cool casual style you wanna pull off one day. Even if you’re not staying home or just going to the gym. White, black and red are the easiest and most color pop pieces to go to. Today was a travel day for me so I decided to still be dope and trendy yet comfy. The sweats look has been happening for a while, but I always thought it might be just a fad, you know? But no. Sweats outfits are here to stay.

Polka

I’m a huge fan of mixing patterns and as summer comes to end there is no better way to play with color and scale. Polka Dot pattern is normally associated with vintage-inspired clothes that can come off as cheesy, but it doesn’t have to look that way if you choose wisely. Keep it current with a fun wrap dress or trendy halter top does the trick. Look for simple shapes like well-cut pants or a-line skirt to make a basic feel fresh again. My polka dot A-Line skirt was perfect for a fellow brunch with a few other fellow stylist. The weather was breezy and warm so the flow of my skirt complimented perfectly. Now, to spice things up I paired it with stripe grey and black crop bustier which are super trendy, feminine and perfect for pairing with summer maxi skirts, shorts or wide leg pants. I hope this look inspires you just as much.

Donna Tella

Whats a better way to bring in your birthday? I couldn't let today pass without doing something I love. For all ladies, the hardest debate is choosing the perfect birthday outfit. You never know how glammed up you want to be. For me, comfort and chic was my go-to decision for my birthday this year. In 1965, Life magazine ran a fashion spread featuring Edie Sedgwick in which they dubbed her: "the girl with the black tights." These tights were part of the poor-little-rich-girl look for most days at Andy Warhol's Factory, and were the first choice for dancers, like myself. Everybody can wear tights as pants, you just have to wear them the correct way, which is why I chose the "tight-pants". Super comfortable and sexy. Shows off every curve. To add some spice I styled it with my gold and black print silk top tucked-in with my double buckle western belt. Accessoriize with A nice pointy toe pump with a mini crossbody bag and your good to go. I hope your birthday outfit was a fun as mines.

Animal Print

Where do I begin? There are so many ways to rock animal print. What I love most about this trend is that these patterns are made up of neutral colors, so you can really mix things up when it comes to styling. Pair with pops of color, other patterns, or go more monochrome. I mean literally anything goes. One thing I love about this look is that it is so versatile. This oversize cheetah print cardigan can be easily transformed into so many ways. You can wear it closed or unbutton, as a sweater dress and even **cringe** your sweater to wear with a pair of shorts. Which is exactly the route I look. Pairing my red, black and white leather shoes made this outfit very understated and effortless. Especially with fall approaching tights under your skirts and shorts are definitely comfy and chic. To add finishing touches I complemented my look with cheetah print eye-wear, black pointy toes heels and gold jewelry.

Modern Vintage

Cat eye sunglasses have made there way back to 2018 and this time there here for good. The original 50s Cat Eye sunglasses style was thinner and angular, with a big swoop look on the temple meant to accentuate the cheekbones. The frames were produced for optical glasses until in 1961 when Audrey Hepburn wore a pair of cat’s eye sunglasses in the “Breakfast at Tiffany”. The sunglasses she wore were called the “Manhattan”. Nowadays, cat eye sunglasses are more rounded and better suited for many different face shapes. And the best part is that cat eye sunglasses can come in prescription as well! I decided to go for the all white cat eye sunglasses. The color was super easy to match with my all white vintage corset paired with with my oversize blazer. Definitely made the look very modern. My black Y-Project pants are super trendy, they show a little skin to spice things up. I was a little in decisive about my shoes but adding my black and white snake skin print mules worked out perfectly.

Black Out

My first thought after i picked my outfit was, isn't it to hot to wear all black? But hey what the heck. Fashion is Fashion and Wardrobe has no rules. To jazz up an all-basic outfit, simply pile on the accouterments. The details on an outfit are very important. My "Off-White" long sleeve shirt complimented my all black bottoms, but they weren't just any pair of all black bottoms. They're Stirrups! Stirrup pants are back and they are officially trendy this year.  We either think of it as something very outdated or plainly a fashion mistake. This year is bound for second chances and what used to be the 80’s favorite workout clothing is making a huge comeback this summer 2018. I love how black allows you to go a little over-the-top with your ensemble, my cheetah print mule pumps gave the ultimate accent. To keep your streetwear looking fresh and dated add your favorite cross-body bag and a dope fitted cap to top your look off.

FriYAY

Are sweatshirts and hoodies a thing now? They come in a number of styles, ranging from smart pullover jumpers to casual zip-up hoodies and everything in between. With that in mind, it’s no surprise that they can accommodate almost any occasion, from lounging on the sofa to effortless smart-casual outfits that are perfect for social outings. One of the more common uses of the classic sweatshirt is the casual look. Like pairing it with a turtleneck, a step up from it’s predecessor of lax sweatpants and cozy jumpers, the more socially ‘appropriate’ casual wear instead consists of chinos, jeans and trousers. Speaking of trousers, I decided to style mines with my 3 sided - stripe pants. It kept the look more casual yet stylish. Rather than wearing a pair of tight skinny jeans. My circle shades and fanny pack are the newest and latest trend, the fresh modern approach give them both such a classic look. Lastly, feel free to add sneakers or heels with your trousers.

Beret Black

Let's be French! Are you thinking about trying a beret this weekend? There are so many color options out there to choose from, and at a variety of price points. Pull your hair back, to keep it soft. It's already a statement piece so be sure to make the rest of your look classic. I really wanted to pair a waist belt with a solid all black knit body-con dress, something simple yet sophisticated. I was really particular with the length of my dress this time, but It aligned perfectly right above my mesh boots. I complimented my outfit with a all black pair of diamond earrings, cat women shades and a patent leather bag.

Vinyl Vibes

Whether you’re ready for the vinyl trend or not, it’s already here so you might as well give it a try. When it comes to wearing vinyl you simply need to pick and choose the right piece that best aligns with your style. Keep it casual by layering it with this season's must have coat, The Plaid Trench Coat! This coat is great for a few reasons. First, the menswear inspiration gives it that chic Tomboy vibe. Second, it has a retro look and feel that somehow translates so well to modern-day. Last, the plaid print is on point. There's so many different ways to wear this coat, I spiced it up with my olive green boot-pants. Talk about sexy and comfort all in one package.

Valentine Vogue

Now we all know Valentine's Day is the day to get sexy and show those curves. Whether you're going out with your best friends or on a date with your boo, its pretty natural to dress up. But why not be different and be dope?! Now don't get me wrong, red is definitely that go to color for this particular holiday which is why I gravitated towards my red fringe and white button down collar shirt. Its appropriate for all ages. Fringes can look polished, chic, sporty. glam, edgy and will always have a bohemian touch to them. I always say the shoes set the tone for the whole look so I paired this top with my black patent platform kicks and all black high-waist  disco pants. Since black was the next best thing, I also accesorized this look with my all black leather cap and trench coat. Oh, and lets not forget about adding that red bag!
